This post explains how to get set up as a reuser and also how the process of collecting items for free works.

REGISTRATION AS A REUSER 

1. How do I join as a reuser?

   Create a reuser account.  The form is here. All you need is your full name, email, phone number, and a photo to register.
   
2. Do I need any special qualifications or vehicle type to register as a reuser?

   No. As a reuser you will be using LoveJunk to access free second hand items for reuse (rather than being paid to collect waste). Collection can be by foot, car, van or even bicycle! Provided you can remove the item safely at the time agreed, you can do so by any method you wish.
   

HOW TO COLLECT FOR FREE

1. Which types of listings can I collect for free?

   Once registered as a reuser, you can select any live listing that appears in the 'Free stuff' gallery. Example below:
2. How do I offer to collect for free?

   To make an offer, tap the photo on the gallery. This will take you to the detailed listing page. Review the details, including any extra photos and description, the pickup postcode area and any info regarding the  owner's preferred collection date and time. If you would like to collect the item for free, click on ‘Message owner’ on the listing. This will open the secure chat function (assuming you are logged in as a reuser).  You can use this chat function to ask questions and agree to collect for free. 
   

MANAGING YOUR COLLECTION

1. Can I cancel after I agreed to collect?

   Sometimes things happen that are outside everyone's control. If you need to cancel, let the owner know as soon as possible because they will be relying on you to collect at the agreed time. Cancellation without good reason is likely to lead to a poor feedback rating from the owner. Your rating is shown to other owners when you submit offers to collect for free in the future.  So, a poor rating is likely to make it harder for you to use the platform going forward.
2. The owner cancelled the collection, what happens?

   If the owner cancels (rather than reschedules) the collection, let us know using the three dots on the top right of the listing screen and we will look to resolve the issue.

PAYMENT

1. Do I get paid for collecting the items?

   No, reusers who are not licensed waste carriers can only collect items for free. You need be registered as a professional Waste Collector to get paid for collecting waste items through the LoveJunk platform.

RULES FOR REUSERS

Last but not least, we have three simple rules that we ask all reusers to follow when using LoveJunk. These are designed to keep everyone happy and avoid infringing waste & tax regulations. 

Rule1: Free means Free - Never take payment for your collection.

Rule 2: Courtesy is king - Be polite and respectful in your communication, respond promptly to messages, and show up on time.

Rule 3: NO waste - Only take items you intend to reuse rather than dispose of. Waste removal is illegal unless you are a licensed waste carrier.
